Snail Performance 2015 Attack!

It seems as though 2015 just got here, and yet, we are already multiple races into the New Year! Big things are happening at Snail Performance and we are excited for the new opportunities that have presented themselves.

  To start the year off, we began with some aerodynamics testing in the Showkar at the NASA AZ season opener at Wild Horse Pass East. We fought some minor issues including wiring issues, an alternator belt that decided to become multiple belts, and a diffuser that turned out not to be fire proof. All said and done we left with a podium each day in TT-U, 2nd Place on Saturday, and 1st Place on Sunday.



Fast forward one month and the team made the journey to Buttonwillow Raceway for Global Time Attack Pro Am Round 1 presented by Speed District. Buttonwillow is a team favorite, despite only having an opportunity to run it once or twice a year. Sally, Travis, and Taylor were there to represent Snail Performance in all classes of AWD. A beautiful Saturday arrival quickly turned into a cloudy and moist Sunday with showers coming every hour just as the track would become somewhat dry. It’s safe to say there were very few competitive times during the event with drivers doing their best to avoid the huge puddles on track. The team finished with a clean sweep in AWD, 1st Place Unlimited, Limited, and Sally taking home 1st Place Street Class at her second ever GTA event and first time at Buttonwillow. It was a team effort with Rich from RA Worx, Markos from Snail, our Snailfam, and the whole Team Moist crew showing their support in the pits. As the mother of all storms rolled in the team scrambled to load the trailers before the sky fell.

Snail Performance is also excited to announce new partners
for the 2015 season, including Rays Engineering and
Hankook USA. This is truly a winning combination and
we couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to represent both brands on and off the track.

Other new partners include Bulletproof Automotive, who along with Snail Performance will be building the first Varis 2015 Subaru STI in the US. This will be a beautiful build using our 2015 STI featuring the full Varis components kit sitting on Rays Volk ZE40 wheels. Be sure to follow this build as it progresses.
